Not to mention that given that he has little experience even if he checks whether the breaks are working there's no way of telling whether the breaks are going to fail or not when he goes on the track!

Seriously Robbie, you need to get some help and asking here isn't a problem, as you said: you can always ignore the replies you don't like and follow those you do like.

I suggest you spend some time reading through some of the old posts before posting any more "easy" questions, the chances you can come-up with a kart related thread that hasn't been asked here before are so remote even Lottery has better odds!

And secondly, way more important, is to get your kart checked-out by a mate or someone at the track that knows his way around one! There's no harm in approaching a mechanic or an official on a test weekend and asking: scuse me sir, I know nothing about karts, bought this collection of metal, plastic and rubber, would you mind having a look at it and tell me if there's any reason it isn't safe for me to join the track with it?

It's a start and most people will genuinely not mind. If they do you either move on to the next one; or you move on to the next one after finding out the first ar$eh0l3's name and post it here for all of us to give him some stick!

Don't be shy, in flesh we're a friendly bunch really! We all started more or less exactly where you are now, be it that some had (maybe) a little bit more or less mechanical/engineering knowledge!

What track are you planning on endangering with your presence? LOL

Dan
