We had a similar learning curve. New clutch on the wtp lasted less than 10 hours, it just lasted the final by the skin if its teeth, as D. Charity explained, a lobe detatched its self from the body, failing across the radial slot. Having asked a few questions, it turned out he was holding the kart on the brake at the grid (standing start.) with a lot of RPM's
Mills told me that thier best driver will make a clutch last all season and the lesser experienced obviously lasts a lot less. Normally, when they are racing the cluch engages at the start, then it stays engaged until the race is finished. Instead of gearing it for max. speed down the straights, gear it to maintain over 6000 rpm on the slowest corner, if possible.
