most likely - dodgy valves - is possible that they hadn't reseated properly after you checked pressure. - also dust caps will help.

2nd - due to low pressure tyres rolling off and allowing air out - may not have happened before, but maybe this time the temperature/driving was sufficent to cause

3 - damaged rims
