Sounds like a better idea to make a larger hole and mould a former.
Put new fibreglass over the former and existing seat.Then you are left with a complete seat with custom bulges and full strength. There are no complaints about repaired seats
If asked just say your kart rolled onto a fence post which went through both sides of the seat which had to be repaired.
Or else get your driver go large on a daily McDonalds
