I have to say that I think this is all a storm in a tea cup. My understanding is that a new new style clutch MAY not engage before 3000rpm anyway? I have to say the prerace check did me a favour recently as my clutch drum was split! had Rissy not insisted on the 'clutches in your hand' rule it may have failed in the race! Not to say I agree with the hassle involved in removing and replacing the clutch 4 times a day along with other changes etc!

As for moving the kart, how can 3000rpm on a 135KG minmax work in the same way on a 177KG+ in rotax 177??? It can't be a fair test whether there is a piece of wood involved or not. The heavier the mass the more 'effort' needed to move it! that's why it's easier to push my car when it runs out of fuel than it is my van!! LOL!

If JAG/MSA/A.N.Other have issued a statement stating that there is no advantage in grease being present on the new clutch, then what the hell are the scrutineers looking for anyway??

I think they should be looking closer at the cheating aspect of it. I've heard of clutches with spot welds to make them engage later, drums being turned down on a lathe for the same reason. Not to mention clutches removed from certain drivers, at S1 in particular, and replaced with brand new as supplied by JAG and a massive difference in performance afterwards! Obviously issues with the old ones looking at the times posted, but noone excluded???
