I agree that a standing start could be a fairer start - but the issue with starting the engine and going straight into a race without warming up the kart surely would then outweigh the advantages.

If the kart could do a warming up lap and then form for a standing start ala F1 then this would work - but it does sound like the Comers would have an issue as would any DD class.

I don't know what would be the best solution - maybe remove front bumpers so that the driver ankles and in the line of fire - see how much respect they then give everyone else
