If you use a normal charger you will find that the battery will 'gas'.

A car charger delivers too much current for the new style Rotax battery and the old style 'alarm' batteries.

You can use one in an emergency but don't charge it for too long, say 1/4 hour stints and let it rest for 1/2 hr for a total of an hour to 1 1/2 hr, and just keep an eye on it, listen for gassing and getting warm.

If you have a volt meter, monitor the voltage once you disconnect the charger and if you have 13v, I'd stop.

So long as it will spin the motor over ok, it will run the ignition all day.
