Moped = 50cc engine
Perhaps Ian, you mean 'Scooter' for which there is no restriction in engine size.... ;-)
I have driven cars and ridden motorcycles for 30 years and, although I agree injury is more likely in a motorcycle accident, being an alert, competent, considerate rider reduces the risk of accident to, in my opinion, a minimal and acceptable risk.
I equate it to the risk of serious injury in karting - minimal, but acceptable for the joy of the sport.
My other sport is field hockey. My chances of injury are far greater on the field than on the track and, in my opinion, the road.
