I would interpret that as almost "specially selected" components. *Apparently* different engines run better with different carbs/exhausts/wiring looms etc. i.e. all engines are different, one combo could be awful for one person but amazing for another.

So I would assume matched means "works well with the engine".

This is my interpretation atleast. Someone feel free to correct me :)
