i suspect without some carefull measeuring you will be altering the weight balance of the chassis and thats without even discussing set stiffness

if it were me id just pad out the seat that you were happy with(in the position it was in)rather than change seat type.

you could always buy a smaller seat of the same type,they are expensive but the ones that arent covered are quite a lot cheaper,even than the 1/4 covered ones

remember you will be driving on a circuit you have never driven before so having the kart as familiar as possible would be desirable
