Comer W60 needs to pull between 6500-7500 minimum revs and 11500-12500 maximum revs depending on the track. Below the lower levels the engine has trouble picking up quickly.
Gear to achieve max revs, but consider the track, for example at Wigan you don't want to be pulling to high so keep to 11800 max, as the engine pulls high revs for most of the track. Whereas Rowrah yur could pull 12500 max revs as this will only occur very briefly on each lap.
Roughly changing 1 tooth on the rear should equate to 200rpm at max.
Hope that helps, but it will also help to know your engine power curve, some have good power across the band, other have a lot of low end power and other have a lot of top end power. And some magic engines have power everywhere.
Your engine builder should be able to give you some assistance. I recommend John at Force who will always give a power curve off the dyno to see how your engine performs.
