cheers richy, no then engine is well past its rebulid, it clocked up about 50 hrs mate, i was just curious to know if every engine had a rev range it worked best in. since running leaner on the carb raises the revs, if it was just a case of the higher you could get it to rev the faster the engine would be then it would be easy but this is obviously not the case.
a friend of mine was racing at the weekend, he was quick compared to us, in fact he was one of the fastest on the track but he was only pulling 11700rpm top end and 8000 low and his temp was running only at 170 -180. we were running at 11500 and 7000 low temp 190- 200 but were way of the pace( obviousley due to the engine i know )
but i go back to the question as to due they each specifically have a range that they perform better at?
