The fine level is set so that you don't forget your license.

From the moment the permit starts, the club is under MSA control.

The MSA fined you, not the club, they are just following the correct proceedure and informing the steward, he in turn, lines the MSA pockets. (joke, before you get carried away peeps).

Regardless of whether the club has seen your license before, something could have occured during the previous period that meant your medical condition or maybe a points accumulation, could have rendered your license invalid.

I do sympathise with you as Ł50.00 in cold blood is hard to stomach.
