No.. the idea is to let the motor rev higher before the clutch starts to engage.
At 3k rpm you have about 6 bhp to get you going, but if you can get the clutch to slip ( and WD40 is not a very sure or repeatable way of doing that !) up to 8k rpm,... then you have 25+hp to accellerate you off the line .
The USA Yamaha classes use purpose built disc "slipper" clutches to do exactly that and by letting the clutch slip up to 10k - 12k rpm they can keep the motor "on the pipe" even in very low speed corners. Those clutches need a lot of maintenance though !!
