A Denso 24 works better when it's really cold. I have used one in our B5 last two weeks. For carb settings 35 min is probably too low when weather is very cold. Along with the cold we have also had high pressure recently. Rule is richen carb when cold and for higher pressure too. I would try the low jet (nearest engine) at 45mins. Leave high jet at 90mins or nip in to 85 depending on how engine is reving on straight. I also have a theory that novice drivers need to have the low jet a bit richer as they don't carry their speed into/through the corner so well and need low jet a bit richer to compensate.
