If you want a quick route in, do the following:

1) Find your local club via the icon 'Track Directory' at the bottom of this page.
2) find what weekend they 'race'.
3) Post a message on this forum with the title:-

"newbie needs intro at XXXX on YYY, please"

4) Put text in the message as follows:

Experience, age, weight, gender. List that you can get to the tarck by yourself and are happy to help out if needed on that day.

If the usual occurs, you will get offers to meet you on the day and 'show you around'. You'll then have made some friends who can HELP you choose the RIGHT class for you that is actually RACED at your track. Spend some time looking at ALL the classes! Don't buy ANYTHING (except teas, coffees and bacon sarnies for your new friends!) until you have been to 3 races. Then ask the people you have met to help you find a good kart for your money!
