We have ALL been 'new to karting'! You are NO different to the REST of us!
Look..... it's SIMPLE!
All you have to do as say the following:-
1) How OLD you are! We need to know so we can recommend the RIGHT people and the RIGHT kart and the RIGHT track!
2) If you can GET to kart tracks. Can you DRIVE on the ROAD (are you old enough)? There's no point in us recommending a track that can't be reached by train if you can't get there by CAR!
3) WHEN you'll be available to VISIT a race (Usually on a Sunday!)!
The IDEAL way to do this is to post a NEW message with the title:-
"Newbie needs Intro at Rye, Kimbolton, (etc.) in February"
You will then get a collection of us who will offer to MEET you at the track and show you round!
You need NOT use this method if you domn't want to.......but our experience (mine is FIFTY YEARS!) tells us that those who DON'T use this technique tend to stay in karting LESS long as they make a WILD guess at what class they should do and GIVE UP because they got it WRONG!
It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to make a WORSE choice than to try to decide WHICH class of kart or WHICH model until you've checked if THAT class is raced at you loacl tracks or that the kart you have bought is LEGAL for that class! We see ENDLESS numbers of people who DO EXACTLY THAT and find they have WASTED their money of a kart they CANNOT race!
********
Your cagey answers make us all a little concerned. We karters are a funny bunch! We are VERY friendly but VERY passionate. We WELCOME newcomers who want to join IN! Open up just a little bit and you'll get a MUCH better set of repsonses! You are already getting sarcastic ones and you won't know who is making fun of you until you know more about karting!
The BEST way to learn is to come and MEET us!
We REALLY don't BITE!
