With the newer valve cover that has the red knob the recommended starting point is to have 5mm of thread showing between the black cover and the knob. This is not exact and you need to adjust on track. Turning clockwise increases the revs at which the PV opens and turning anticlock lowers the opening point. When right there should be smooth power with no noticeable drop off or sudden rush of power. I believe you should aim for the valve to open at around 7500 rpm.
