Maybe someone can answer the question as to why we have both the head volume check AND the head shape gauge ? (especially as there is such a tight tolerance on the head volume shape - ie 1mm maximum on shape and then you're illegal !!).

You would think that the shape check would be sufficient (coupled with a squish minimum tolerance) to allow compliance AND also be something that is very simple to police by the scrutes and the competitors !
