Now I know as I am not Itpro I cannot insist that this debate stays on message, but I am not talking about how much each person chooses to spend or indeed the cost of Max compared to TKM.

It’s not a cheap solution to change class when you already own your kit, to go from KF1 to Max or from Max to TKM or from TKM to Prokarts costs money.

My debate was purely about how to reduce costs within each class without changing the level of competition, in fact in the case of the Max I believe that if we all run on harder tyres and use the same gearing then the level of competition will be increased and the gap between the haves and have not’s will be dramatically reduced, but the rewards for a good set-up in terms of both chassis and engine tuning would be enhanced.

I am not for one minute saying that if someone has the funds that Super1 or Stars etc should change their rules; in fact I believe it would be nice to have the “step up” effect in terms of open gearing and high grip tyres.

But lets be fair I am only dreaming, no one will listen and club numbers in all classes will go down the pan.
