We have discovered that AVERAGE revs for the fastest lap should be somewhere between 9800 and 10100, depending on the track. If you want more torque for accelarating out of the curves then you sould aim for a bigger gear giving higher AVERAGE revs. Optimal seems to be between 9900 and 10000 AVERAGE rpms.
In these cases we have also noticed that HIGHEST rpm is not always above 14000. Often we achieve only 13800-13900 HIGHEST rpm and still get the fastest laps. It all depends on the track and where your engine has most torque.
