Every year there are people who are disappointed that the NKRA championships don't run their class.
This year I heard of several and tackled the NKRA about it.
Their reply was quite simple. If you can get 10 people in any one region to become members and turn up to the races, they will try to put your grid into the championship. Ideally , if you can get 10 people in each of the areas, then you have the recipe for a wider competition at the Grand Finals.
So, although they had that number signed up in Comer Cadets last year, apparently only 7 or so turned up for any race and only 5 turned up for the Grand Final.
Meanwhile Rotax 177 have a problem getting more than 8 drivers to sign up. One of the reasons often quoted by 177 drivers apparently is that "they didn't know NKRA would do Rotax 177" even though there is a Rotax Max category.
And what about a TKM grid now?
It seems there is a place for the 'clubman' style of championship as well as the 'elite' championships offered by other people, but would people really sign up for it if they knew about it, and if so, why don't they?
