Brinjono is spot on with his assertion that wet sump car engines do not run with the crank in the oil also he is spot on about the Honda and other similar 'commercial' engines that use a splash feed from a 'dipper' on the bottom end of the rod to splash feed the bearings and underside of the piston. I am surprised you missed that one John, but it is cold and us older duffers do suffer with sticky syncros on our brains a bit like a ford gearbox with ep90 when we are cold.
