It very much depends on where you want to race. There are parts of the country with weak TKM /2 grids... or none at all... then there are places where its reasonably bouyant. The advantage of moving to Rotax Max is that you're guaranteed a good grid no matter where you race... but its significantly more expensive than TKM /2. In terms of chassis, you're best off buying something post 2004. If your's is 1990s, then its either out of homologation, or getting close to expiring... also, you'll need to modify it to comply with the 2009 bodywork regs. Its cheaper, easier and better to get a newer one.
