Hi russ,just checked out the pics of deans kart and all seems sound to me,...that exact kart was very fast in its day in 06,o7 and dont think its done too much since,i would have it anyway but an 08 would be better,BUT at a cost of course,....so i would say go for it as its a MASSIVE step up to what you have and will defo make you quicker,Duxbury was untouchable in that not long ago and deans done well on it too,so fill ya boots man at that price as you then can now spend 12 months saving for a 08.
