Itpro is bang on with what he says about spending money on all the flash kit, but it is very difficult not to buy into the idea and thats part of the problem. I have made quite a lot of money from my business and thought about going racing, i looked at cars everything but I chose karting because its as close to proper racing as you will get.
I started off spending quite a bit of money on it but have spent less and less and focussed on trying different things a lot can be achieved without money. I have had my three best finishes on the trot since doing everything myself and the learning curve has been amazing. But one thing you do need and ian will probably agree is a decent shelter because if your cold and wet it makes the experience of karting in this country less enjoyable, now watch all the others call me a big girl for not liking the outdoors :-)
