Sure I understand, strangely enough it's the same principle I used last year with the Honda GX120 engine. However with that engine I can now look at a head and say with 80% certainty that's fast and with 100% certainty that's not. Saves a lot of time and money!
Popular myth here is that the real experts can do the same with the tillotson, just by look, touch, perhaps some measurement and a look at the batch number.
I went out and bought 3 new carbs, dimantled them and had a good look and there are plenty of very small but obvious differences even between those that probably came of the line the same day. Who knows what if any effect these differences make though.
Of course I understand that this is the sort of expertise you can pay thousands for, just chancing my arm that somebody might be able to give a little on a carb that is no longer used competitively in the UK.
After all it's in a good cause, beating the French. lol.
As a matter of interest my son is developing his victory celebration, a double longbowmans salute, 2 inverted V signs!!!!!lol! His idea after recently reading about the 100 years war. Our oldest friends and our oldest enemy!!!!! Priceless
