If you are running a Mychron4 or better, get yourself antiquated with the split sector layout and times, the track you are on will probably be split into 2 sectors minimum, and you can normally categorize one as the "fast" bit, and the other as the "in-field" bit, then when you are making changes each sector time will respond differently......get yourself a note-book and write everything down, then a trend will start to appear of what you should and shouldn't be doing.

Also on test days we avoid the tow of another kart in front, it will give you 0.2-0.5 seconds extra pace, and generally bum-steer your times, so we like to go out by ourselves, but its a personal preference, others insist upon having a battle on a test day!......entirely your choice, just be aware of the confusion it will cause with your times.
