It's my understanding that "Vnuk" covers all motorised vehicles and would in effect widen the terms of the RTA so everything that moves powered by an engine would have to be insured.
No doubt in the rest of Europe a cheap and effective insurance solution will be developed. No doubt because this is the UK such policies will be expensive and see a power grab from the "authorised bodies."
The MSA has made representation to the government but politicians have other things on their mind ATM so I expect this to fall through the cracks.
The ABkC has no power over this, they are just an arm of the MSA. Whether non-MSA motorsport (not just karting) can get the insurance together remains to be seen. Actually it's not just motor sport, think driving days, golf buggies, invalid scooters, all will come under the law in future whether on public or private ground.
At least that's my understanding. I may be wrong, do your own research, I don't claim to be an expert.
I'm sure our insurance industry can come up with a sensible product at a sensible price, but this is motor sport so ...
