Sorry to disagree: your priority should be to buy The Best Helmet you can afford that complies with the regs. You'll understand why when 'little Johnny' has been sliding 10m along the tarmac on his lid carrying the whole weight of his kart on his neck and helmet.

Yes we also had issues making the weight. Saved kilo's by choosing the right race suit and he wore an Arai GP5 with a 75gram paint job
