Take the head off every month, or every 5 hours running time and lap the valves in with fine lapping paste, take your time and do a decent job of it, do NOT get any paste on the valve stem or in the valve guide, thoroughly clean it afterwards, cleanliness is next to godliness. I know some people that do this after every race meeting as its "that" critical to engine performance, its worth about 3-5% of the engines overall performance.

Buy yourself a calibrated torque wrench for only Ł25 and a supply of new genuine honda head gaskets.

Make sure the engine is cold and stabilized to room temp before re-assembling the head, do not re-assemble a warm engine that has just been dyno'd.......just a pet method, as the bore distortion is critical

Replace the valve springs every 10 hours.

Set both T2 valve lash figures to 10 thou each when cold......yes 10 thou for both of them

Take the carb apart and thoroughly brake-clean it out every 10 hours

Dont be afraid to throw your clutch in the bin and completely replace it with a new one after doing about 40 standing starts or 10 race weekends......a worn clutch will lose you 0.5secs per lap no problem.

now enjoy saving Ł200 every time you dont have your engine serviced B-)......hope that helps?
