I feel inclined to agree with a lot of what Coach Calhoon has just said......
but on the positive side!......
But if you want to go cadet or bambino karting with the MSA for enjoyment at club rounds (not S1) then go for it, its a great life experience for the kids, whereby they mature very quickly and learn life lessons that school or corporate karting just cannot teach them, I have done both so feel well positioned to say this. Plus you will make friends with lots of like minded people.
For me I love the fiddling and engineering side of it......my son loves driving.......and its both of our hobbies......we have been karting for 5 years, the last 2-1/2 MSA with honda cadets, no sniff of the podium yet, but it sure beats being dragged around a gardencentre, DIY, lakeside, or blue-water shopping trips.
2 years ago we had 4 months off karting as my son rolled his kart and broke his arm badly......sow I'm being serious with what I say next: during those 4 months I had 4 of the most crippling credit card bills arrive as I kept being dragged off to shopping trips by the missus!.......thankfully, once we got back karting the costs went back to normal......the moral of the story being: karting saves you money, its just a fact!
