I would have thought any object being placed between the front chassis rail line and the bumper Nose cone, whatever) would fall foul of the 40mm 'safety' zone you referred to in your previous post.

To protrude forward and would be a safety issue in a big crash. Rearwards would imply it was attached to the bumper which is a no no. I should imagine it represents a modification to a homolagated crash tested parts, the bumper, front rails etc.
