Some clubs do, but the problem isn't quite as simple as that.

For example, down south, a novice will often find that there is a lot of help offered, where all they have to do is pit next to the help, or even explicitly offered when it is clear that they are struggling or don't know how to do something.

A lot of novices will turn this help down, for reasons which really aren't clear to me. Sometimes it seems they are suspicious that anyone should 'help', at other times maybe they expect to have to pay for it, or regard it as cheating or even feel that 'learning' to get to grips with their kart is part of what they want to do.

Sometimes it can be sheer frustration.

Tracks / clubs that seem to offer 'pastoral' care often achieve it by making sure that a novice has been made aware of where the help can come from rather than offering the help themselves.

And 'villages' of kart classes can be a two-edged sword. They can be great resources but they often seem to be a closed community or clique, especially if everyone operates from walled gazebos.

Perhaps the idea really calls for some of the established drivers on a grid to make a point of talking to the novices at the back, to make friends! Some do and some don't.
