Skint father - I had a similar experience in November last year, I turned up on Saturday for practice in Honda cadets on WMKC race day, I went to race control to sign on and they said "sorry unless you are booked in you cannot practice, but if there is a cancellation we can slot you in".....so I was as nice as I could be and openly mocked myself in front of the signing on staff, within 20 minutes they very kindly slotted my novice son into a cancelled spot, I was chuffed to bits, as it was a 160 mile round trip for me too.....in reality it was all my own fault as big circuits like Whilton dont just let anyone out on pre-race test days, they are swamped with race entries for most classes and if you are not booked in advance, you cannot go out to play......sad to hear TKM is not too popular nowdays......We did our first full race weekend at Whilton on 23rd & 24th race weekend just gone, in honda cadet, Whilton was swamped and grids looked bumper full......as I believe everyone wants to get their track time in before the S1 rounds come to Whilton........we normally practice at Rye and there you can just turn up, but bigger circuits you must pre-book for race day testing, normally on-line.......just accept the rules are different and you learnt a lesson, as I did, there is no need for a pubic beef with WMKC or whilton.
