Trom the market place" I am selling a pair of M4 side pod bars, front bumper, throttle pedal and a pair of Rotax exhaust brackets these also come with carbon bars. "
well, the BB says of front bumper U17.2.1. Consist of two steel elements, lower and upper.
so that's non-compliant in titanium
There's something of an anomaly in that for gear box karts 17.15. Side bumpers must: 17.15.1. Be made from magnetic steel tubing with a minimum outside diameter of 18mm and a minimum wall thickness of 1.5mm.
but this has been missed from non gearbox karts, but one is taking a chance under the BB catch-all clause
"16.1.1. Modification, addition, variation or tuning other than specifically permitted in these Regulations is prohibited. IF IN DOUBT . . . DON’T. Anyone requiring clarification or definitions concerning the Technical Content of these Regulations should apply in writing to the MSA."
Without such a certificate, I would think the use of the titanium sidepod bars would be something that could be argued about. A scrutineer might be well within his powers to say that it seems unsafe and isn't specifically permitted.
In the gold book both cadets and TKMs specifically exclude titanium. Most of the other classes say "MSA year book compliant".
