Obviously, Helen's tragic death put some off the event, but it was due to run the following year but had to be cancelled due to a cut in funding from the government. Then the focus of the IOMKRA switched from it's aim of making money to pay for Peel each year to paying for the permanent track at Jurby.
Lessons can be learnt from that dark day in 2005 and I will be doing everything I can to see it return.
The MSA have a perfect chance to promote karting with this new government legislation (not that if ever affected the Isle of Man anyway) by taking the racing to the people.
