Thanks all, as I thought then. I'll get a magnet so I can artificially finish the lap.

I'm not that bothered about where the lap starts and finishes really. I just want to be sure that is the same place each time. Not finishing a lap threw out subsequent sessions and I had no idea which split was which us all.

When he has a little more track time, switching the unit on himself will be ok I'm sure.
