Thanks for hijacking the thread with an insult JPG. I know who Danlee's lad is and he has plenty of talent - and his dad is certainly no idiot.
What is beyond doubt is that you need an outstanding engine to fight at the very front. And after you have done S1 for a while you want to try and get to the front or the interest wanes.
Anyway - back to the point ... Would be great if S1 said something about qualifying - and had a website that matched the standard of the competition so that they cld publicise things like this properly.
I think 5 mins introduces an added element of chance that we could do without. There is already plenty of luck/bad luck involved in any S1 weekend without adding a rushed qualifying.
And that is putting aside the fact that a bit more track time is just a good thing and makes everyone feel like their entry fees are worth it. I accept it is only a few extra mins tho.
