inconsistency - thats what it comes down to - like its been said, some of the more experienced kids want to be pushed to help them get to the next pack/driver - if its being asked for it seems unfair to blackflag the pushing driver - but then how can the marshalls/stewards tell?
Having seen a couple of S1 drivers turn up to our club, their driving standards were terrible - they seem to think because they are S1 they are untouchable and rammed/loaded/generally drove badly - this doesn't apply to all S1 drivers though and some of the club drivers can be just as bad!!
We've been through this as my lad is pretty clean but when he was slightly slower than the leaders - he'd get bashed/pushed/fired as the others knew he wouldn't give it back. This year he's faster and driving better so doesn't get caught up quite so much.
It must be tough for the marhsalls to see everything on track, especially when there are really big grids - these kids run from 8 upwards and are learning motorsport so there will always be mistakes, crashes, etc - they are better racers than i am thats for sure.
If the decisions are consistent then everyone knows where they stand. If the parents start abusing each other within the pits, etc then they need their PG licences marked, i'm sure little johnnie won't be happy if he can't race because his parent has been suspended!
