If you look at the chassis, the front torsion bar effectively adds another cross member to the front half of the frame which, depending on the stiffness of the bar, affects how each side of the frame reacts when cornering. We used to take it out completely in the wet. I believe that this changes the way in which the rear wheel is lifted in a corner. We used to use the following bars from time to time on a OTK chassis: beige, chrome round, flat at all angles, copper and nylon. I think the biggest benefit of all these options is that you can tune the chassis to suit the driver's style given the prevailing conditions. Mind you , you need a trailer to carry it all around......
