DIY chassis straightening is enough to make anyones head spin. Unless you know the measurements of a straight(new) chassis it is difficult to tell what is out of alignment
This is where jigs and jigging tools come into play. on the yokes some use a 30mm axle cut into two halves and turned down to fit through the yoke. measurements are made from the rear axle to top of the poles - this checks for the correct caster angle and if you measure between the poles you can gauge camber. A height gauge is used with the chassis on a flat bed to measure yoke height. The trouble is that there are so many varibles that and is difficult to find a reference point to start. If the chassis is worth saving it might be worth paying £50-60 to get it jigged.
If its an OTK chassis there are loads of jigs and the larger teams will check it and align it for a price. BRT are the best for straightening just about anything
