When the comer was the official cadet engine for the MSA British Championship, all other cadet engines were supposed to be slower.
When the WTP and Easykarts were introduced they were made slower - Honda probably was restricted in some way (maybe by weight) but over the years seems to have got closer - faster on some circuits.
Now that the Iame is the offical cadet engine the same thinking applies - all other cadets should be slower.
The original tender for the new engine stated that it should be slower than current cadet engines and that is why the others now have to be slowed.
There is no need to force people into moving to Iame - if you want to compete in the MSA British cadet Championship then that is the only engine you can use.
If you are happy with club racing and a national series then you have other choices.
Having raced the unrestricted easykart cadet in Italy I do not agree that the cadet classes need to be made slower - there were not piles of dead cadets all round the track.
When the MSA reviews the position they could decide to restrict the Iame rather than de-restrict the others!
