Sammy B - thats a very comprehensive reply and gives an excellent appraisal, all of which makes very good sense - thank-you.

My driver is not heavy and in fact we can run bang on the weight without having to add any lead for most of the time, so that suggests we are not asking too much of what I know is a soft and flexible chassis in the EVR. I am not able to get it checked on a flat bed but have done the lasers across the front and recently back to front etc with hanging brackets all of which suggest that all lines up. Also, for me the tyres can reveal alot of information about alignment/set up and I don't have any signs that concern me regarding bent/broken etc.
So, if those basics are correct and we eliminate the 'heavy driver' and soft chassis element, then we come back to where else the problem lies - I absolutely see the point you make about driving style and this is something that we have and still are working at/considering - we have found some improvements in time from varying the driving style and all credit to him for being able to do that, but even with that development that inconsistency between similair conditions on the same track with the same kart on known quick set up crops up.

Buzzinrussell - it's not that I don't want to reveal where we race, but my point is not, I think related to the circuit - this is an issue that could be anywhere at any time with any kart
and with regards to what others are using etc, I can see where that info would be useful to know, but I have to say, with a couple of exceptions we don't ..........and having said that, I know of some who are on brand new kit not as quick as us and probably never will be and there are others who run older kit than us and will be quicker

......what a wonderful sport we are lucky enough to be involved in!!!!!!!!!!!!!
