Once again last weekend another 15 yr old Jnr competitor's weekend ruined by the MSA rigidity . The driver turned up with his mum and dad and tested all day Saturday where he has been racing for over 2 years. Sadly his mum was too ill to come back on Sunday ,so dad brought him back to the track. Goes to sign on and produces his licence, but dad did not have a PGL as karting is the lad and mum's hobby. He was refused permission to race despite his dad having 3 picture IDs,plus a Snr Cheshire Police officer was willing to verify it was the lads dad and over 20 other people who know the family. He was unable to race despite offering to pay a fine,or run under another Jnrs awning with his dads PGL. (thanks to Barry Chief Scrut and the COC for trying all avenues no one srnior in the MSA available weekends,!! try after 12 on a FRIDAY even) THEY went home and will possibly never kart again as the family are gutted and disgusted with the outcome, the lad devistated. Once again the MSA on their downward spiral,as non MSA is now doubling MSA entries across the UK,licence uptake is down, very few novices for MSA are appearing, people are walking away.
This happened in motorcross a few years ago ,the ACU thought they were GODS,then along came the AMCA ,NORA etc.
