ndiracing - when you say "so convincing your child to use a slower engine will also be a challenge" don't forget what the MSA have said. The tender for the new engine stipualted that it had to be slower than the comer. They have also said that all other cadet engines will have to be made slower than the new Iame - maybe by use of restrictors or extra weight? The WTP and Easykart engines in unrestricted format are faster than the comer and raced (in the case of easykart) across Europe and other countries without problems by kids just as young as our cadets so I do not understand the MSA insistence on slowing down UK cadets. However, for anyone who wants to do only club racing or a national championship as opposed to the official MSA cadet championship then the honda is a very sensible route.
