I would think a couple of reasons and I don't want you to take a offense, this is just a guess at what might be happening; 1) From most people point of view you have won championships with a single driver, so most may think that was down to the driver and little to do with you. 2) Those who do know that you know what your doing are probably experienced in karting and probably own/run a team and don't want someone with more experience/knowledge coming in and undermining them. Easier to hire a young guy with no knowledge but can use spanners and won't ask any questions.
I think the most likely reason is number two, there's a lot of ego in karting, I used to butt my head up against it all the time when drivers I was working with got abandoned, so i did my own thing and did better. Then got singled out for it.
