I think it will come down to budget. If your team is renting you an engine for the weekend then you would run it the whole time. But if it's a daily rent then it may be cheaper to run your own on Friday.

Also what will you do when you are not with the team...at a test day or clubbie for example....Just doing Super's won't be enough track time.
