KJM

The driver concerned was instructed to got to the pits for a minor repair, where the kart was re-scrutineered to rejoin the race. The race was red flagged due to a crash which was nothing to do with the leader. Incidentally, the driver who caused the red flag also rejoined the grid in his original position of P2. Strange there was no mention of that in your post!! As to 'favouritism', the same clerk has also excluded that driver on some occasions, the most recent being after 'the wrong' measurement being taken according to the manufacturer!! No mention of that either, those grapes must be really really sour!! ;-)
