I believe that you would be best answering your own question for your own set-up next time you are practicing - Go out on your kart with the standard tray done up tight all round.
Next session, assuming no major change to conditions go out with the tray as loose as you can so it plays no part in the chassis stiffness.
If you cant tell the difference, in feel, turning or times, I believe you won't benefit from a fibre tray.
For us, while we used OTK, it was only the weight saving on the thick alloy Tony original that mattered. For other karts with much thinner alloy standard trays, I doubt even that is worth it.
